Partners in Your Community Investment Success - Corporate Philanthropy Goals

Corporate philanthropy programs are employer-powered initiatives that provide support and resources to nonprofit organizations and causes to create a positive impact on communities and individuals in need. This support comes in many forms, including matching gifts, volunteer grants, corporate sponsorships, scholarships, in-kind gifts, and direct financial contributions. In addition to benefiting from positive public image, improved community relations, and brand loyalty, employers with corporate philanthropy programs also benefit from tax incentives and improved employee morale and retention.

Increased Employee Engagement

According to America’s Charities Snapshot Research, 70% of employees say it is imperative or very important to work for an employer where mission and values align. Today’s employees expect the companies they work for to support charitable causes and offer opportunities to get involved in nonprofit work.

Enhanced Reputation and Community Impact

90% of businesses surveyed by America’s Charities indicated that partnering with reputable nonprofits enhances their brands, while 89% believe partnering leverages their ability to improve the community.

Tax Benefits

Companies can receive tax benefits and incentives, such as deductions for charitable donations or credits for supporting certain community initiatives. In addition to helping reduce tax liability, these benefits can also help offset the costs of philanthropic efforts which can incentivize further community investment.

Solutions And Partnership Highlights

Vetted Charity Listings

For your grant making and matching gift programs, you can use the same charity list that you use with your workplace giving or volunteer programs, or you can specify a separate list based on your program criteria and policies. While some of our clients use the same charity list across all programs, others prefer to limit the charity listing for some programs while offering broader charity choice for other initiatives. We will configure the platform according to your criteria. Regardless of which direction you go, America’s Charities offers comprehensive charity listings and screening options. For validation, products such as the IRS database, GuideStar Charity Check, OFAC, and Lexis Nexis are used for tax or external verifications in order to provide auditable evidence of charity due diligence. If required, our Engage solution can also integrate with various international tax authorities to verify charitable status: Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA), Australian Business Register, and The Charity Commission (GOV.UK) and others. You may approve which charities are eligible and ineligible for listing in the system, and we can accommodate charity write-in requests from your employees as well.

Administrative and Individual Activity Dashboards

Whether it’s an employee applying for assistance through your company’s emergency assistance fund, a volunteer redeeming a company incentive, a charity applying for your company’s grant, or your administrative team overseeing your various corporate philanthropy and employee engagement programs, America’s Charities can configure different dashboards to help the respective user track their personal impact or progress, manage application documents, and keep tabs on specific action items, key performance indicators, and progress through checklists, charts, and visualizations.

Extensive Reporting, Training, and Ongoing Support

In addition to receiving access to self-directed tools and resources for employee engagement best practices, your administrative team will receive custom user guides and training on all associated technology features, reporting functionality, and general applications and grantmaking capabilities to set your team up for success so you can get the most impact out of your corporate philanthropy program. After your program is up-and-running, we schedule subsequent check-in meetings to obtain feedback and to provide ongoing support to your team. For your strategic purposes and peace of mind we:

  • Aggregate data across programs to capture the full impact of your various initiatives and report that data through dashboards, charts, and the ability for your team to use our reports with business intelligence tools like Tableau and PowerBI for even further analysis,
  • Provide applicants and contributors support regarding questions about their applications and matching gift and grant requests,
  • Ensure all charities receiving grants are qualified and in good standing with the IRS at the time of distribution and not on the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) list,
  • Give charities access to reports and Help Desk support regarding the disbursements made from your company, and
  • Provide partners with status updates and reports of donation disbursements.
