Washington Business Journal 2012 Corporate Philanthropy Awards Honors Lockheed Martin, Hogan Lovells and Washington Gas

The Washington Business Journal 2012 Corporate Philanthropy Awards ceremony took place today, honoring the region’s most active and inspirational companies and nonprofits, who have made an impact in their communities through both financial means and philanthropic work.

Among the companies honored were America’s Charities corporate partners, Lockheed Martin, Washington Gas and Hogan Lovells. 

“Most metro-area volunteer hours”

  • Recognized as #1 in the “Most metro-area volunteer hours” category was Lockheed Martin who’s employees have contributed 147,000 hours of volunteer service.
  • Washington Gas was also recognized, coming in as #15 for their employee’s 10, 412 hours of volunteer service. 

“Top 10 law firms by pro bono hours”

  • As one of the area’s “Top 10 Law Firms” (based on annual pro bono hours of service in the DC region), Hogan Lovells, U.S. LLP was recognized as #4, with 21,000 pro bono hours of service.

“Most local monetary giving”

  • With $6.2 million in donations in the local region, Lockheed Martin was recognized as #4, with Washington Gas being honored for donating $831,723.
