Story Shared by:

Taty Pineda, from Virginia

What inspires you to give?

America's Charities #InspiredGiving StorythonI am a 26 years old Salvadorean who came to this beautiful country, the United States, 3 years ago. I work as a Nanny, and during this time, I’ve been able to babysit for more than 15 families. Thanks to their generosity and kindness, me and my husband have everything we need. We came with nothing to this country. These families gave us sofas, dining sets, a bed, and things for our kitchen. We are so blessed, so now we want to give back!

This month I’ve been collecting clothing donations for adults and children to send to our country El Salvador for very poor communities that need this help. Also, collected donations will be shared by El Salvador and by Alternative House, a home for abused children and teens in Vienna, VA. I am collecting hygiene products for them too and I am looking forward to collect boxes of cereal.

We know it is a small thing we are doing but we hope it will be a difference for these people!

I am also sponsoring a cute little girl who lives in Colombia in a very poor community.
I volunteer for Operation Paws for Homes in Virginia, and also activities that Hope Worldwide organized through my church.

We know we do not have everything we wish, but we have everything we need and we are so grateful for that. That is why we want to give back.

I created a page on Facebook named “Cargo of Hope” to post pictures when the donations are delivered, but also to inspire people to do small things with great love and to include in our lives a time to share and give back to others!

Thank you for being an inspiration!!!!

Sincerely,

Tatiana Pineda
