Shelter Dog Reveals Special Talent
When Bryce and Jennifer Henderson met a perky black dog named Arbor in a Las Vegas pet shelter in 2011, they both felt a connection with her.
But if you had asked them if they believed that Arbor had a successful painting career ahead of her, they would have said you were crazy.
You read that correctly — Arbor the dog is now a “paw-fessional” painter.
“When we tell people that our dog paints, they say ‘oh that’s nice,’ but many people don’t quite grasp it,” said Bryce. “That is, until we show them a video of Arbor with a paintbrush in her mouth swishing, swirling and dotting the canvas and soon their reaction changes.”
It all started with a marker
Arbor didn’t immediately reveal her talent to the Hendersons, but she was eager to learn.
“Soon after we brought her home, we realized that she loved doing tricks and pleasing us. She breezed right through the basic commands and tricks, so Jennifer looked into more advanced training,” Bryce said.
Jennifer started training Arbor with a marker.
