Make the miracle of independence possible for individuals living with various physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities

At Canine Partners for Life, we make the miracle of independence possible every day for individuals living with various physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities. We do this by providing these individuals with professionally trained service and companion dogs. The cost to raise, train, place, and provide support for the lifetime of each partnership is in excess of $30,000. But, we ask our service and companion graduates for only a fraction of that cost when assigned their canine partner and no one is denied a dog if they cannot make a contribution. The remainder of the cost is donated by corporate and foundation partners and individual donors. The Giving Tuesday phenomenon is a crucial part of our annual fundraising efforts, raising thousands of dollars for our life-changing programs in only 24 hours.

Our last Giving Tuesday was a tail-wagging success with more than $11,000 raised from 110 donors! This year, we are prepared to repeat and exceed that success with a goal to raise $15,000, (that’s half the cost of one service dog partnership!) in just one day. In addition, our Board of Directors have already pledged an extra $245 for each $2,000 raised from the community. More pledges are expected in an effort to reach 100% board participation on Giving Tuesday. We are calling on members of the CPL community, dog-lovers the world over, and those who value and believe in the miracle of independence for all to support Canine Partners for Life this Giving Tuesday, November 29.

But, Giving Tuesday is only one small part of our end of year fundraising campaign. Each year, beginning with the Thanksgiving holiday and throughout the month of December, we take the opportunity to share our mission through stories. During our six-week Share Our Stories campaign, we share stories from our service dog teams, home companion dog teams, volunteers, donors, and veterinary sponsors which illustrate our mission and the journey to greater independence. Previous stories can be found at www.k94life.org/shareourstories. To learn more about Canine Partners for Life and to donate on Giving Tuesday, please visit www.k94life.org.
