Livestrong Announces New President and CEO, Former Komen Executive, Chandini Portteus

The Board of Directors of the LIVESTRONG Foundation has announced that it has selected Chandini Portteus as the Foundation’s next president and chief executive officer, effective April 6, 2015. Portteus, 36, joins LIVESTRONG after nearly 10 years with Susan G. Komen, where she served most recently as Chief Mission Officer responsible for strategy and programming around research, community health, public policy and global programs.

“Chandini’s experience, energy and commitment to the cancer community makes her perfectly suited to lead the next stage of LIVESTRONG’s evolution. Her work forging alliances with both corporate and academic partners will be extremely valuable as we launch the LIVESTRONGCancer Institutes at the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin,” said Jeff Garvey, chairman of the LIVESTRONG Foundation’s board of directors. “We are thrilled to welcome Chandini to the LIVESTRONG family.”
