Help SPLC dismantle White supremacy, Strengthen Intersectional Movements, and Advance the Human Rights of All People

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people.

By donating to SPLC through your employee giving program, your compassion can support litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy that SPLC uses, working toward making the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity a reality.

While there may be multiple donation options depending on your employer-sponsored charitable giving program, payroll deduction pledges in particular are a cost-effective and near effortless way to support SPLC and have a big impact.

For instance:

  • $5.00 per pay period (x 26 pay checks = $130 total): A typical mailer informing voters about ballot initiatives or other important local legislation costs about 50 cents each to print and mail. Your recurring $5 per pay period donation through workplace giving is key to helping SPLC overturn voter suppression measures and to register and mobilize voters.

  • $10.00 per pay period (x 26 checks = $260 total): When communicating with clients in immigration detention facilities, it costs 50 cents for SPLC’s attorneys to send one message to a client and vice versa – and when dealing with complicated cases, those messaging fees can quickly add up. A $10 per paycheck pledge via workplace giving adds up and creates life-changing impact.

  • $25.00 per pay period (x 26 paychecks = $650 total): SPLC’s policy team ends up spending a significant amount of money on parking fees at state capitol buildings during legislative sessions. For example, in Georgia, parking at the Capitol runs between $10 and $20 per day, and the SPLC policy staff must be at the Capitol for almost 40 days per session to fight back against harmful legislation. Your $25 per pay period pledge through workplace giving can cover those costs so SPLC’s policy team can fight back against harmful legislation.

  • $50.00 per pay period (x 26 paychecks = $1,300 total): Across its eight office locations, SPLC spends approximately $5,000 per day on security operations, or approximately $625 per day per office. A generous pledge of $50 per paycheck can help keep protect SPLC’s team so they can focus on protecting the human rights of all people.
