International Planned Parenthood Federation

What do we wish more people knew about our work?

International Planned Parenthood FederationIPPF/WHR cares for the WHOLE PERSON.

We provide individuals with complete information on sexuality and reproductive health, so they are empowered to make decisions about sex and exercise their rights.

We help people build safe relationships based on respect and equality.

We believe all people are entitled to quality sexual and reproductive health care regardless of their age, income, gender or sexual orientation.

Our programs and services help people realize their full educational, social, and economic potential.

We hold governments accountable and advocate for policies and programs that meet the real-life needs of local communities.

Ways you or your company can help:

Our work requires robust local Member Associations that partner with governments and the private sector to leverage resources and scale up effective programs. In Bolivia for example, five women die every day from cervical cancer, and more than three million young women are at risk of developing this preventable disease. To eliminate these unnecessary deaths, we partnered with our Member Association in Bolivia, the Bolivian government, and the Gardasil Access Program to vaccinate more than 75,000 girls in poor and rural communities against the disease. The result? A model program that the Bolivian government plans to adopt and scale up.

Nearly half of the population in Latin America and the Caribbean live in poverty, and the region is characterized by the highest levels of social inequality in the world. We work to ensure access to sexual and reproductive health care as a human right for all and respond to the tremendous need for sexual and reproductive health services.
