Overview of the Role

America’s Charities partners with employers to build purpose-driven workplaces through employee giving, volunteering, matching gifts, emergency assistance funds, scholarship programs, and financial wellbeing solutions. This role offers the opportunity to help leading employers support their employees and communities while driving meaningful business growth. 

Reporting to, and partnering with, the VP, Business Development, the Director of Business Development is responsible for acquiring new employer clients for America’s Charities products and services, including workplace giving, matching gifts and volunteering solutions, emergency assistance funds, financial assistance funds, and scholarship programs. This role is responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle including prospecting leads, qualifying prospects, making sales presentations and product demonstrations, securing the sale, and contract implementation. The Director of Business Development will work in close partnership with teams across the organization to ensure client fulfillment and execute successful sales strategies. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of America’s Charities solutions and services and advise on opportunities for new product development for sales opportunities. 
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to acquire new employer clients across America’s Charities’ portfolio of products including workplace giving, employee engagement, emergency assistance funds, scholarship administration, and related solutions. 
  • Partner with the VP, Business Development, in developing and stewarding enterprise opportunities and key prospect relationships.  
  • Identify, research, and engage prospective employer clients through outreach, referrals, strategic partnerships, and networking. 
  • Participate in consultative sales conversations, including creating sales presentations and demonstrations with prospective clients. 
  • Help cultivate and advance inbound and relationship-driven opportunities through the sales pipeline. 
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and customer engagement records within HubSpot CRM software. 
  • Develop proposals, pricing recommendations, and business cases tailored to prospective client needs. 
  • Represent America’s Charities at conferences, webinars, and industry events to strengthen market visibility and generate strategic opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sales efforts and thought leadership initiatives with business development priorities. 
  • Monitor market trends, competitive offerings, and CSR strategies to identify new growth opportunities. 
  • Achieve assigned success measures, including developing a comprehensive knowledge of America’s Charities’ products, maintaining required sales pipeline metrics, and meeting assigned expectations for client outreach, discovery meetings, and proposals. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • Five to eight years of successful consultative B2B enterprise sales experience, with demonstrated achievement in consistently meeting annual sales goals. 
  • Experience selling SaaS, CSR, employee benefits, philanthropy, or related employer solutions preferred. 
  • Familiarity with HR, CSR, employee engagement, or workplace giving markets strongly preferred. 
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (HubSpot strongly preferred). 
  • Comfortable participating in executive-level client conversations, presentations, and strategic relationship development.
