It’s 4pm on a Thursday and a hundred of your fellow employees are just finishing up a long day cleaning acres of community park land. The park authority was extremely gracious, making sure everyone was hydrated and got their free t-shirt, and … that was kind of it. People certainly seemed to enjoy themselves. Great work was done. Transformative Volunteerism

Transformative volunteerism occurs when a volunteer experiences facing an organizational or societal problem and can leave feeling like they were part of a solution. These transformative experiences create a sense of accomplishment and a sense of awakening. They don’t just offer aha! moments; they actively promote them.
