Karega Bailey (D.C. Corps ’09) shares the story of his toughest moment in the classroom. The twist? His toughest moment later led to one of his most rewarding moments as a teacher. 

Never forgetting the message of giving in his community, Mr. Bailey has chosen to make education his career. After teaching 9th Grade Special Education in Washington D.C. with Teach For America, Karega became the youngest Dean in the history of Maya Angelou Public Charter School at age 25. He is also an award winning poet.
