Donate in June to Double Your Impact

More than 400 families donated last week!  That’s right, in the past week, alone, the team at A Wider Circle picked up furniture and home goods from 190 families – and 215 families dropped off items at A Wider Circle – or sent boxes from afar.  That’s 405 families – in one week – donating “stuff” to A Wider Circle.  As a community, and as a country, we are thinking more and more about how to help our neighbors gain stability and think about the rise out of poverty.

Mark Bergel, Founder & Executive Director of A Wider Circle, recently spoke with two young women who lived for years in homeless shelters and are now in college.  Both spoke about the critical importance of this kind of support – even just getting blankets or quilts from someone – and how this type of help changed their views of themselves and of how others care about them.  This support, each shared, made them believe they could find something better in their lives.

This month, you can double your impact.  Thanks to the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation and a group of generous supporters, A Wider Circle will be able to match every dollar donated in the month of June, up to $30,000.  That means twice as many children going to sleep each night in beds instead of on the floor, twice as many families and individuals having their basic needs met, twice as many individuals receiving the support they need to enter or re-enter the workforce, and so much more.
