Do More 24 on June 19th

Do More 24 is coming soon! A special fundraising day in the Greater Washington area will take place on June 19, 2014. Do More 24 will be a day dedicated to online giving and is hosted by the United Way of the National Capital Area (UWNCA). You may recall in November of 2011, they ran a similar program called Give to the Max, but starting with last year’s Do More 24 event they have made significant changes to the program, including changing the date so it would not compete with fundraising during the campaign season.

In order to provide increased stability and security for both donors and participating charities, this year, Do More 24 will move to the Kimbia platform. Kimbia has more Giving Day expertise than any other giving day vendor, and has everything needed for a successful crowdfunding campaign. In 2013, Kimbia supported more than 20 giving days, including the Communities Foundation of Texas, which raised $25.2 million dollars for 1,300 nonprofits in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Once again we have joined other organizations as a Community Partner.  We think this presents opportunities for you to attract new donors as well as encourage your current donors to support you as this event is not during campaign season.

We encourage you to consider registering and becoming part of this single day of online fundraising, but don’t wait too long because the registration deadline is June 5.  As this is a local fundraising event, national nonprofits are invited to participate but must agree to use the funds locally and indicate on their Do More 24 profile page how those funds will be used the Greater Washington area.
