Today is World Wish Day! Support Make-A-Wish®
Today, April 29th is World Wish Day, marking the day that Chris Greicius received his wish to be a police officer, inspiring the creation of Make-A-Wish and its global wish granting mission. Since Chris’ wish in 1980, more than 310,000 children around the world have had their one-true-wish granted by Make-A-Wish.
With World Wish Day, Make-A-Wish hopes to raise the awareness and funds for children with life-threatening medical conditions and their families. World Wish Day has grown into a global phenomenon that sprouts the enthusiasm of thousands of people around the world.
One way you can celebrate World Wish Day (#WorldWishDay on Twitter) is to support Make-A-Wish’s Wishes in Flight® Program.Â
Nationally, Make-A-Wish® would need more than 2.5 billion miles, or 50,000 round-trip tickets, to cover every travel wish each year.
Every mile donated helps wish kids and their families travel to destinations around the world. Once donated, your miles will never expire and are used to support wishes across the country. This is just one simple way you can help grant a life-changing wish experience.
