Fairfax CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a 501(c)(3) public charity, recruits and trains citizen volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children who are under the court’s protection in Fairfax County. Nicknamed “the eyes and ears of the judge,” CASA volunteers help ensure that these vulnerable children are placed in safe, permanent, and loving homes as quickly as possible.
The juvenile court relies heavily on the CASA volunteer’s work and requests that Fairfax CASA assign a volunteer to every case of abuse and neglect before the Court. With an average referral of one case every 34 hours, the organization must recruit new volunteers year-round. Your race registration helps support the training and guidance given to these dedicated citizens. To learn more about this not-for-profit public charity, see www.fairfaxcasa.org.
