Why Charities Should be Cautious of Giving Days & Crowd-sourcing Events
By participating in “giving days” (like “Give to the Max”) and other crowd-sourcing events, is your charity attracting new donors or are you just changing your existing $500 workplace giving donor into a $50 one-time gift donor instead?Â
I recently had the opportunity to speak about this subject on the Not-for-Profit Exchange Blog Talk Radio. While I think “giving days” are an interesting concept in crowd-sourcing for giving, you should be cautious about participating in these types of events and need to look at the motivations of the organizers to make sure it’s the right thing for your charity.
