The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America Recognizes MS Awareness Month with New Video
By Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) on March 7, 2017
March is recognized as Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is proud to support this national campaign with the launch of our new video titled, Changing Lives Monday to Sunday.
Monday to Sunday was developed to showcase the many ways we help serve the MS community. Featuring three of our clients with MS whose lives were positively impacted by MSAA’s free programs and services, we hope our video inspires support from the general public to fulfill our mission of Improving Lives Today!
Some of the programs and services featured in Monday to Sunday include our MRI Access Fund, cooling products for heat-sensitive individuals, the My MS Manager mobile phone app, as well as information about the benefits of swimming and aquatic exercise for people with MS.
Multiple sclerosis affects more than 400,000 Americans and many experts estimate that 2.5 million people worldwide have been diagnosed with the disease. MS is most frequently diagnosed in young adults and is an unpredictable disorder, which can cause a variety of symptoms. Symptoms differ for each person; however common MS symptoms include visual problems, overwhelming fatigue, difficulty with balance and coordination, depression and cognitive issues, and various levels of impaired mobility. While there is no known cause or cure for MS, the support of loved ones, care partners, and organizations such as MSAA is vital to improving one’s quality of life.
Your support allows MSAA to continue to provide free programs and services to the MS community. These life-changing programs include funding for MRIs, cooling vests and accessories to help cope with the effects of heat, educational programs covering topics important to the MS community, and many other services. We truly appreciate all gifts and thank you for your support in our mission to Improve Lives Today!
We encourage everyone to learn more about multiple sclerosis and to help raise much-needed awareness and support for everyone affected by MS. Individuals who wish to spread the word about MS as well as MSAA’s programs and services can do so by sharing the Monday to Sunday video on social media using the hashtag #ChangeALifeMSAA.
We appreciate the generous support received from EMD Serono and Digitas Health New York to make the Monday to Sunday video possible.
