Urology Care Foundation
The Urology Care Foundation is dedicated to advancing urology research and education. We collaborate with researchers, healthcare professionals, patients and caregivers to improve patients’ lives. The Foundation is the official foundation of the American Urological Association (AUA). Since 1987, our unique relationship with the AUA, an organization of approximately 22,000 urologists, has positioned the Foundation as a leading advocate in urologic health, uniquely qualified to speak on behalf of urology.
The Foundation’s Research Scholars Program, has provided support to promising young urology researchers for more than 42 years. The Foundation continues to provide the most accurate and current urological information and education to patients.
The Foundation works to fund urologic research and research training in support of innovative treatments to improve the quality of patients’ lives. Since 1975, the Research Awards Program has provided more than 750 outstanding young scientists with over $30 million in research funding dedicated to preventing, diagnosing and treating urologic conditions. Research made possible by the Foundation has led to improvements in patient care such as advances in patient care in prostate cancer, dietary interventions that improve prostate cancer outcomes, more effective treatment of kidney stones, preservation of fertility in male cancer patients and much more. We support every stage of research to improve the quality of life for patients suffering from urologic disease.
The Urology Care Foundation is a leading advocate for patients, healthcare professionals and caregivers. We work to provide the most accurate and current urologic information and education. The Foundation is committed to offering free patient education materials on a variety of urologic conditions and treatments. Developed from the evidence-based AUA Clinical Guidelines, the Foundation’s patient information helps patients navigate their care, understand their symptoms, treatment options, and strategies for maintaining good urologic health.
