$10 a week funds critically necessary pre-transplant testing not covered by Medicaid, and only partially covered by insurance for one child.
Kids Beating Cancer, Inc.
There is no greater motivating factor to inspire and lead others to join a cause and change the world, than the suffering and death of a child. In 1992, Margaret Guedes began the John Voight Memorial Foundation, now Kids Beating Cancer, in her son’s memory after losing him to leukemia at age 9. Turning personal tragedy into triumph has been the core value that has driven Kids Beating Cancer to serve the sickest children, beginning in Central Florida, and then extended its mission nationally and internationally.
Kids Beating Cancer removes barriers to treatment for children with cancer, leukemia, sickle cell and other life-threatening diseases in need of a marrow or stem cell transplant by funding costs to identify donors, uninsured medical expenses and providing support for the families as they face this challenging journey towards a cure.
