Arthritis & Chronic Pain Research Institute
Arthritis & Chronic Pain Research Institute is dedicated to support research directed towards the discovery and development of innovative methods to treat and possibly cure disease associated with chronic pain, such as arthritis, cancer, injuries, and other medical conditions. This research focuses on pain relief without the common side effects of the opioids, like morphine and heroin, such as addiction, respiratory depression, and constipation. We provide funding for biomedical research and support scientists to educate their peers and participate in scientific collaborations. This support provides scientists with the necessary lab equipment and supplies, and allows them to establish and maintain relationships with other research scientists throughout the world to collaborate and share all scientific results. We have supported the identified a series of compounds, and with a licensed clinical partner, these compounds are now in successful Phase 3 human clinical trials. These compounds lack the side effects of the opioids. In addition, Arthritis & Chronic Pain Research Institute educates the public and increases public awareness of acute and chronic pain by publishing newsletters and scientific reports, by supporting scientists in their attendance and participation at scientific conferences, by maintaining a website, and by providing other related information to the public at their request.
