Harris Gubin is a master networker and an acknowledged leader in the Greater Philadelphia business community.
He believes in the “givers gain” philosophy (one must give in order to gain), and a cornerstone of his networking philosophy is always thinking about the other person first. In this regard, the number of connections that Harris has made surely ranks up there with the city’s most visible business leaders.
Harris serves as the Business Development Director for America’s Charities. As a leader in employee giving, America’s Charities inspires employees and organizations to support a cause they care about. They have raised more than $700 million for more than 20,000 nonprofits addressing such important causes as education, human rights, hunger, poverty, research, animal welfare, veteran assistance, disaster relief, and health services. These workplace partnerships allow nonprofits to raise funds, further increase employee engagement through giving, and achieve social impact goals supporting the local community.
Prior to joining America’s Charities, Harris worked for Community Health Charities, the nation’s largest health and wellness federation. While there he cultivated strategic partnerships to help companies improve their social responsibility.
Harris also serves as President of the Jewish Business Network of Philadelphia (JBN), a highly esteemed networking group that invites CEOs of major Philadelphia companies to speak to its membership. He has personally invited and attained commitment from more than 30 CEOs to present at the JBN, including the CEO of Independence Blue Cross, Campbell’s Soup, PECO, Herr’s, UPS, and Toll Brothers.
In his spare time, Harris volunteers his time as a live auctioneer, helping nonprofits in the region achieve and exceed their fundraising goals. Harris works with the Katz Family Charitable Trust to organize, facilitate, and lead live auctions. To date, he has raised more than $1 million.
