Emily Simone is formerly the director of community relations for Lockheed Martin. In that capacity, she was responsible for leading the Corporation’s philanthropic giving and employee volunteerism. In 2014, the Corporation donated $24.6M to charities and its employees volunteered more than 1M hours.
Previously, Emily served as the director of communications for Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Services-Civil, one of the Corporation’s fastest growing businesses. In that role, she led strategic communications to effectively position the business with key constituencies both externally and internally.
Prior to that position, Emily managed communications at IS&GS’ Business Process Solutions business unit and was responsible for advertising and international communications for the IS&GS business area. She joined Lockheed Martin more than 10 years ago and has held positions of increasing responsibility across the corporation in a variety of communications disciplines.
Before joining Lockheed Martin, Emily was a senior account executive with The Hawthorn Group, an independent public affairs firm in Washington, DC. Her clients included Honda, Sony Electronics, Virgin Atlantic and AT&T Wireless.
Emily serves on the board of directors for Community First, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital Foundation and the Glenn L. Martin Foundation. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College.
