Denise Gustafson began her career in the nonprofit industry in 1994 as a teacher for YouthBuild USA in Washington, D.C. During her tenure, she helped at-risk youth earn their GEDs, conducted business writing classes for a welfare-to-work program, and established the school’s library through monetary and material donations. She joined America's Charities in 2000 as a campaign services coordinator, where she worked closely with charities and public sector campaigns, raising millions for America’s Charities and its members.
In 2002, Denise transferred to the Charitable Funds Management Solutions department (formerly known as the Fiscal Department) where she streamlined the distribution process with the increased use of technology, ensuring that administrative costs were kept to a minimum and that more dollars reached the charities serving the needs of the community. In her new capacity as director of reporting and analysis, Denise analyzes America's Charities' stakeholder data, bridges the Charitable Funds Management Solutions and Finance teams, and runs reports to help make sense of the data.
Denise has a B.A. from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. from George Mason University in Virginia.
