Catherine O’Connor, an account specialist in America's Charities' Finance department, processes accounts receivable and provides reporting for Employee Assistance Fund (EAF) clients while supplying tax receipts and meeting clients' special project needs.
From 2005 to 2015, Catherine was an account manager and data compliance coordinator at America's Charities in the Charitable Funds Management Solutions department. She focused on managing employer workplace giving campaigns and tracked annual pledge data from the Combined Federal Campaign and State and Local campaigns to meet the compliance needs of America's Charities' charity members. In addition, she recruited, trained, and supervised the Donor Services Team (Help Desk) on data entry processing and donor pledge inquiries.
Prior to America’s Charities, Catherine was director of administration and human resources at Digital. For more than ten years, she served as a fundraising coordinator and community relations liaison through Prince William County Schools. Today, she remains a contributing freelance writer to several newsletter publications.
She founded the company Shifting Gears, which operates in Louisiana and provides relocation and estate distribution needs for families of seniors transitioning to alternative housing. Catherine is an active member of the NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers), and volunteers as a homeowners association board member for her community.
Having lived overseas during her youth while her family was attached to US AID through the American Embassy, Catherine benefitted from having an international education. She recently organized a global reunion bringing together more than 2,000 members of the American School Manila in the Philippines, for their 25th reunion.
Catherine has her B.A. in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Currently, she volunteers her time extensively to animal rescue and protection rights groups serving the Northern Virginia area. When not working or volunteering, Catherine enjoys writing, traveling, and building her art portfolio.
